The cookie diet?

It’s true. There is a diet out there that involves cookies; and not just one-a-day, but six!

According to this New York Times article, D. Siegals’ Cookie Diet includes eating six pre-packaged cookies a day plus one real meal, one that is high in protein.

According to the article, 500,000 people are estimated to have lost weight with the diet, which claims that if followed, people can lose up to 10 pounds a month.

In what was previously exclusively sold to doctors in Miami, Dr. Siegal’s cookies are now sold at Walgreen and GNC. He also started CookieDiet.com in 2006.

Siegal said he expects revenues this year to be $18 million, up from $12 million in 2008, thanks in part to endorsements from celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Hudson.
