Travelport GDS today announced that Armin Meier will join the company on June 1, 2008 on a part-time basis and assume the role of Chief Commercial Officer on September 1, 2008. In this capacity Mr. Meier will have global responsibility for sales, marketing, segmentation and customer engagement for Travelport GDS, comprising the Galileo and Worldspan brands, and the IT Services and Software lines of business. My intention is to lead Travelport’s continued commercial growth by deepening our already strong relationships with suppliers and agencies, delivering exemplary customer service and by identifying and exploiting winnable business opportunities. I’m genuinely excited to have this opportunity during such a dynamic phase in Travelport’s history.”
Prior to his tenure at Kuoni, Mr. Meier held executive responsibility for supply chain logistics and information technology at Migros, the largest retailer in Switzerland.
