Bacardi celebrates launch of Echo
Bacardi, one of the world’s leading spirits brand, is celebrating the success of the launch of Echo this month. The owners of the plant said the sales of the new bottled water product are surpassing projections, according to an article in The Nassau Guardian in the Bahamas.
Tennyson Wells, one of 40 Bahamian investors who owns the plant, was quoted in the article:
“We are not just meeting our projections, we’re surpassing projections. We are quite pleased with the progress of that. We intend to be very competitive in the market and to takeover our fair share of the market.”
At the 2009 Visionary Business Leaders conference this December he, along with other businessmen, are expected to provide real life solutions on how small and medium sized businesses can manage the recession.
The Bacardi Plant was acquired by Wells’ group, The Source River Limited (SRL).
It plans on turning the facility into a “food and beverage production site, developing a soft drink bottling operation alongside a bakery that appears to meet the owner’s expressed desire to see the facility remain an industrial operation,” the article states.
The Echo brand of water was launched in September.
