When Good People Have Affairs by Mira Kirshenbaum
Mira Kirshenbaum, a psychotherapist and author, recently released a book about relationships entitled When Good People Have Affairs: Inside the Hearts & Minds of People in Two Relationships.
Published last May 2008 by St. Martin’s Press, the 272-paged book is available in hardcover format.
Kirshenbaum wrote the book to let her readers understand why some good people engage in affairs and why affairs can be helpful in order to save one’s relationship.
The book is for those who have been cheated on as well as the cheaters themselves. She takes into account the perspectives of both the cheated individual and the cheater. The author walks her readers through identifying 17 different kinds of affairs and the reasons why such affairs happen. She also goes into detail in describing each kind of affair. Through the book, the author also helps people deal with the consequences of affairs through 6 easy steps in seeking for a more solid and better relationship among couples who have been living in doubt, anger, confusion, and hurt.
The book has generated good reviews from several professionals including religious leaders, teachers, and doctors. M. Thomas Shaw, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Massachusetts, described the book as something that every pastor, therapist, and counselor must read. Lucille Boone of the Library Journal also recommends the book for self-help collections in public libraries. Lee Raffel, author, describes the book as offering powerful and pragmatic answers.
The popularity of the book is also seen in its high category rankings and customer reviews in Amazon.com.
